Our bronze desk bust pays homage to distinguished civil rights hero Thurgood Marshall (1908-1993). Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Thurgood Marshall studied law at Howard University. As counsel to the NAACP, he utilized the judiciary to champion equality for African Americans. In 1954, he won the Brown v. Board of Education case, in which the Supreme Court ended racial segregation in public schools. Marshall was appointed to the Supreme Court in 1967, and served for 24 years.  Bust features inspirational Marshall quotation: "The way to right wrongs is to turn the light of truth upon them." Each bronze sculpture is originated, cast and hand finished by a gifted sculptor in England, and measures 8.5 inches tall with a width and depth of approximately 4.75 inches and is heavy enough to serve as a large desk ornament, bookend or personal library focal point. Please note that each bust is crafted by hand by our sculptor at the time of order.  Delivery may take up to three weeks.
